Hello
In 2025/26, more than $4.05 million was invested through the Citrus Fund, supporting both strategic R&D and bold marketing initiatives to grow the industry.
To learn more about the impact your investment is making, watch this short message from our Chief Executive Officer, Brett Fifield, who reflects on the value of working together to achieve positive outcomes for the horticulture sector.
Your insights and collaboration continue to shape the industry. Together, we’ve grown export value, shared industry knowledge, kept growers informed, and built consumer demand for Australian citrus.
Key highlights from the year made possible by the Citrus Fund:
- Growing export value: The market development and quality program supported citrus in overseas markets, with exports reaching $682 million and 326,010 tonnes for the year ending August 2025, up 24 per cent and 23 per cent respectively.
- Sharing industry knowledge: The Australian Citrus Congress brought together growers and industry stakeholders to share the latest research, developments, extension and marketing insights. It attracted 470 delegates, making it the largest Australian Citrus Congress held to date.
- Keeping growers informed: The industry communications program continued to provide growers with information on levy-funded research, industry tools, emerging risks and opportunities to support informed decision-making on-farm.
- Building consumer demand: A domestic citrus marketing campaign positioned Australian oranges as a natural way to support wellbeing and immunity during winter, helping build consumer demand and purchase intent. Read more about marketing activities in 2025/26 here.
In response to grower feedback, we recently launched the Horticulture Investment Roadmaps and Dashboard where you can see your industry's investment priorities, where levy funds are being invested, and how current projects align with the issues and opportunities you have identified.
We look forward to building on this momentum with you in 2026/27.
Regards,
