WAPHA action: Impacts of the global fuel supply
interruption
WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) acknowledges the uncertainty
created by current fuel supply constraints across Western Australia, affecting
commissioned service providers and their clients.
WAPHA is taking a proactive, coordinated approach in its system
stewardship role. We are working within formal response frameworks, alongside
Commonwealth and State partners and primary care stakeholders, to share
intelligence, align messaging, support a coordinated response, and advocate for
primary care as an essential part of the health system.
Preparing for disruption
To manage any disruption to services, commissioned providers are
encouraged to review their business continuity plans and offer telehealth
appointments as appropriate.
Report service impacts
If your service is affected by fuel supply constraints, please
contact your WAPHA contract manager to discuss. Feedback received will be
channelled through the State’s formal response structure and, where
appropriate, to the Commonwealth, to advocate for access to measures needed to
support continuity of care.
Further information and updates
A dedicated Fuel Supply web page is
available with links to helpful resources, which will be updated as new
information is released. This includes:
- MBS and telehealth services factsheets and resources, including patient end support services
- Practical information for conducting telehealth
Relevant information will continue to be provided as the situation
evolves via the web page, in our regular newsletters and your WAPHA contract
manager.
Please continue to direct any service-specific questions to your
WAPHA contract manager.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to supporting our
communities.
