Preparing large suppliers for eInvoicing requirements
Government agencies should engage with their large suppliers now to help them prepare to send eInvoices from next year.
eInvoicing capability | New Zealand Government Procurement
Under the Government Procurement Rules, Rule 44: eInvoicing capability, agencies must require large suppliers to submit eInvoices from 1 January 2027. Talk to your suppliers to find out if they are in scope, understand what contract or system changes may be needed, and give them time to prepare.
MBIE’s eInvoicing team is working with agencies’ finance teams to help them engage with large suppliers. The eInvoicing website also provides information, tools and resources to support agencies and suppliers through the transition. If you have any questions, contact MBIE’s eInvoicing team.
