Seven years of connection, movement and creativity

Your chance to win: Celebrating seven years of Sydney Metro Northwest Places placemaking

On 26 May 2026, we celebrate seven years of bringing people together through our Sydney Metro Northwest Places placemaking program and another big year of community events at Bella Vista Pocket Park.

From Live Life Get Active to new themes each month for weekly Stage Door dance classes, and hands-on Totem Skateboarding workshops, there’s been something for everyone to get involved in.

This year also welcomed new ways to connect and create, with Coffee Connections, Colour and Creativity and Ready, Set, Play with Netball NSW. And who can forget our fun-filled Totem Skate launch event in March with a design-your-own skateboard workshop adding a creative spin to the day.

Thank you to all of the community members who have shown up, joined in and made each event memorable. You are invited to share your thoughts and feedback on how we can improve these events in the future to make them better than ever.

Local art showcase, family fun and community market

You’re invited to a local art showcase and family fun day at Bella Vista Pocket Park on Sunday 28 June from 11am to 3pm.

Join us for an afternoon celebrating creativity and connection, with food trucks, face painting, community market stalls and activities for the whole family throughout the day.

The final artworks of those who took part in the Colour and Creativity sessions with the Community Migrant Resource Centre will be on exhibition. Participants of all ages spent ten weeks taking their drawing skills to the next level, with the final artworks to be unveiled at this exhibition.

Don’t miss this chance to show your support and have a fun day out while you’re at it.

Struggle to stay motivated as the weather cools down? 

According to Live Life Get Active, even a few small shifts can make all the difference. 

1. Start with a simple routine, show up once and see how you go
2. Find an accountability buddy to keep you on track, or tap into the energy of a group
3. Keep it fun! Movement feels easier when you enjoy it.

That’s where our Live Life Get Active classes at Bella Vista Pocket Park come in – free, social, and welcoming for all fitness levels. These classes are an easy way to build healthy habits and stay connected this season.

Warm up with good company at Coffee Connections

Colder days have a way of shrinking routines. Our monthly Coffee Connections group is a great way to step outside, warm up with a coffee and spend time around others.

Held at 10.45am every second Wednesday of each month at Bella Vista Pocket Park, this women’s wellness circle is a safe space to listen, share, or simply be present, while building meaningful connections with other local women.

No registrations are required, simply turn up. The next Coffee Connections will be on 10 June. Attendance includes a complimentary barista-made coffee and childcare.
