New Statewide Referral Criteria for Paediatric Orthopaedics in Victoria

The Department of Health has published comprehensive statewide referral criteria for paediatric orthopaedic conditions to guide referrers on when a child should be directed to public hospital orthopaedic services. The criteria will be implemented into clinical referral pathways on the Murray HealthPathways platform by 20 April 2026.

Statewide Referral Criteria for Lung Nodules

New statewide referral criteria for referrals to lung nodule services are now in effect. Patients can be placed on a specialist clinic wait list when a referring GP provides information that shows the referral meets the statewide specialist referral criteria. The criteria outlines what needs to be included in a referral, so that the patient can be directed to the best available service. The Lung Cancer Screening HealthPathway has been reviewed to align with the new criteria.

Murray PHN acknowledges its catchment crosses over many unceded First Nations Countries, following the Dhelkunya Yaluk (Healing River).
We pay our respects and give thanks to the Ancestors, Elders and Young people for their nurturing, protection and caregiving of these sacred lands and waterways, acknowledging their continuing cultural, spiritual and educational practices.

We are grateful for the sharing of Country and the renewal that Country gives us. We acknowledge and express our sorrow that this sharing has come at a personal, spiritual and cultural cost to the wellbeing of First Nations peoples. We commit to addressing the injustices of colonisation across our catchment, and to listening to the wisdom of First Nations communities who hold the knowledge to enable healing.

We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
