Procurement capability index survey goes live early November

The Procurement capability index reporting (PCI) assessment will be available for agencies to complete next month (November).

This reporting is due on 2 March 2026.

The PCI is an annual survey designed to assess an agency’s capability across a range of areas such as governance, strategy, planning, sourcing and management.

Following feedback on the 2024 reporting, we’ve refined several questions to strengthen data quality and ensure we can provide timely, actionable insights back to agencies.

The PCI can help your agency identify areas for development, comparisons with similar sized agencies and opportunities for NZGP to assist.

Agencies required to apply the Government Rules must complete the PCI annually. However, we encourage all agencies to complete the PCI survey as it helps your agency identify capability opportunities to deliver better outcomes.

    GETSmart with GETS

We’re getting close to the end of the year, so it’s time to plan your GETS activities around the holiday period.

The GETS contact centre will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 to 8am on Monday, 5 January 2026, giving our hard-working service team a well-earned break.

Please remember that your suppliers will also be taking a break over Christmas, so here’s a few tips for making sure you get good results out of your tendering activities:

    • Avoid opening or closing tenders after mid-December and before mid-January if possible.
    • If you need to run tenders during this time, allow extra time for your respondents to respond.
    • Post an advance notice now, to give your potential respondents time to prepare for your tenders.

This will make sure you get the best responses to your tenders on GETS.
